CFRP lamella stay-cable and its force measurement based on microwave radar

Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) has advantageous characteristics such as lightweight, high strength, corrosion and fatigue resistance, low creep, damping, etc. It is suitable to be used in bridge structures cables, which can effectively solve the problems of easy rusting, heavyweight, tensile performance steel cables. This paper firstly illustrates properties CFRP lamella compared with rod terms cable anchoring then investigates wedge-shaped clamp anchorage for by finite element analysis static test. Finally, process measuring force stay-cable non-contact microwave measurement technology introduced. The experiment show that anchor a relatively efficiency, maximum stress at free section instead section, failure pattern mainly fiber explosion section. results are consistent those traditional pressure sensor strain gauge methods. fast operate, it cable.
